The AboAba Collection
Timothy Lwakatende is a Ugandan abstract artist whose work captures the rhythm, colour, and raw emotion of his surroundings. His paintings draw from everyday life — the movement of people, the textures of the land, and the contrasts of light and shadow that shape his home. Each piece is both expressive and deeply rooted in his experience of Uganda.
Alongside his studio practice, Tim founded AboAba Kids Art, a community project that shares the power of creativity with children who rarely get the chance to experience it. Through his workshops, he teaches art, English, and storytelling, giving kids a safe and joyful space to express themselves.
For Tim, art is more than a career — it’s a lifeline. It has allowed him to turn hardship into beauty, and now he helps the next generation do the same. Every purchase from this collection supports his work and helps keep art materials flowing to his classes, ensuring that creativity, not struggle, shapes these children’s futures.
